Consultation
The consultation is a fun and relaxing brain storming session. A no-pressure, informal, easy way to get started and have a chat about your project. This is our first chance to get to know each other. We meet at whatever time works for you. This can be in the evening or on a weekend – whatever your schedule allows. We usually schedule about an hour. The time is used for us to try and understand your vision, timeline, and budget.
Our job is to provide you with a solution that fits all three. We’ll ask about your tastes, styles, and why you want to do the project in the first place! We’ll provide you with references and portfolios, and invite you to ask us any questions that you would like to. We’ll look at designs and different types of installations.
The design process begins by determining the needs and desires of the user and the conditions of the site. With this information, the designer then organizes the plants and hardscape materials, which are collectively referred to as the features. The features can be physically described by the visual qualities of line, form, color, texture, and visual weight—the elements of design. The principles are the fundamental concepts of composition—proportion, order, repetition, and unity—that serve as guidelines to arrange or organize the features to create an aesthetically pleasing or beautiful landscape. Our artistic expertise is what Reed Landscape always offers their clients and works with them to bring that art to life.
