About Us

Reed Landscape Irrigation is owned and operated by John Reed.  John received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture from The Ohio State University (1980) with a focus on landscape design.   He was hired by Fairfield Harbour as the Grounds Superintendent in August of 1980. Wanting more of a challenge, he opened Reed Landscape Irrigation in New Bern in 1987.  Since then the company has grown along with New Bern to become one of the area's preferred landscape design and construction professionals. 

Many years ago, John invited his twin brother Jim to join his landscaping business. Jim is also an Ohio State graduate with the same degree.  Jim has extensive experience in both landscape and hardscape operations, garnered at large commercial landscape operations in Michigan and Ohio. Combined, the Reed brothers have over 70 years of landscape, hardscape and irrigation construction experience.

Reed Landscape Irrigation is a family owned and run business.  Both of John's sons, Nate and Max, currently work with the company and bring fresh perspectives to both designs and installations.  Our recent focus has been on patio/fire pit and walkway design and construction and seat wall builds.
